Lesson ideas across subjects
- Math: program the robot to trace a shape, or move exact distances and angles.
- ELA: build a story map on the floor and drive the robot through the plot.
- Geography: tape a map down; navigate from city to city.
- Science: design and test a challenge course; iterate on the "best path."
Managing robots in a real classroom
- Small groups (2-3) per robot — everyone codes, no one just watches.
- Assign roles (coder, tester, recorder) and rotate them.
- Charge overnight and number each robot to its case.
- Start with a tight challenge, not "free play," so it stays about learning.
Care & storage
Robots are pricey — teach careful handling, keep them off the edges of tables, and store them in labeled cases. A quick end-of-lesson count saves a lot of grief.
