Accessibility statement
A site that teaches inclusive teaching should be usable by everyone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we've built in
- Keyboard access — every link, menu, filter, and interactive tool works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. Press / to jump to search and Esc to close menus.
- A "Skip to content" link as the first thing on every page.
- Structure for screen readers — real headings, labeled navigation and sidebar landmarks, the current page announced in menus, and open/closed state on menu buttons.
- Readable color in both light and dark mode, and status like "completed" is shown with text, not color alone.
- Reduced motion — animations switch off if your device asks for less motion.
- Resizable text — pages reflow when zoomed, and wide tables scroll within their box.
- A print view for lesson plans that strips navigation and keeps content readable.
Known limitations
We'd rather tell you than have you find out:
- Some lessons include placeholder boxes where screenshots will go; they contain text descriptions in the meantime.
- The site has been checked by its author but has not yet had an independent, formal accessibility audit.
- We link to many third-party tools. Their accessibility is outside our control, so check each tool's own accessibility information for your students.
Report a barrier
If anything on this site is hard to use with your device, browser, or assistive technology, email hello@teachertechtools.org. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what you use (for example, "NVDA with Firefox"). Every page also has a "Report a problem" link at the bottom.
